This Health and Safety Policy explains how Gardeners Balham manages safety for all gardening and landscaping activities. It applies to all employees, subcontractors and anyone working on our behalf at residential and commercial gardens within our service area. Our aim is to prevent injury, ill health and damage to property while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Policy Statement
Gardeners Balham is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment. We recognise our duty to protect our workers, clients, visitors and members of the public who may be affected by our gardening operations. We will take all reasonably practicable steps to identify and control risks associated with our services, from routine garden maintenance to more complex landscaping tasks.

Legal Compliance and Responsibilities
Gardeners Balham will comply with all relevant health and safety legislation and approved codes of practice that apply to gardening, landscaping and grounds maintenance activities. Management is responsible for implementing this policy and ensuring that adequate resources, training and supervision are provided.
All workers, including temporary and subcontracted staff, have a duty to take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions. They must cooperate with Gardeners Balham in meeting legal obligations, follow site rules, use equipment correctly and report hazards or incidents without delay.
Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work
